Help! Ceramic gloss tile dulled after grouting......

Good afternoon all, I would really appreciate some advice for my tiling job which I've just finished.

I've just tiled my kitchen splashback with beige coloured ceramic gloss tiles. 24 hours after the job, I grouted last night using Bal microban flexible grout(brilliant white). I mixed the grout exactly according to the instructions and applied to the tiles using a rubber grout float, then removed with a wet sponge after the 15 minutes stated on the grout bag.

This morning, I went to buff the residue from the tiles but have noticed some of the tiles will not buff to the original shine, seeming to have a residue which will not come off, even with a wet sponge.

I am very reluctant to try any cleaning products in case they remove the sheen further. I just hope the glaze hasn't been damaged during the grouting process. The tiles feel slightly different when you run your finger across the dull patches, some of which cover most of the tile.

Any help or advice to remove the dull areas/restore the original finish would be much appreciated.

Many thanks..........

Do you have any pictures please

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've taken some pictures with my phone but I'm having problems uploading them as they exceed my upload limit by a huge margin.

However, in the meantime I've dug out a cleaning product from the kitchen cupboard which seems to be restoring the original finish 'relatively' easily, although some tiles are still proving slightly more stubborn it all seems to be coming off. Should be sorted within around half an hour or so.

For info, if anyone else has the same problem, the cleaning product is called 'Astonish Bathroom Cleaner', which cost £1 from Homebase. The label says it's good for glazed ceramic tiles, amongst other things.

Thanks again.

Could of course be poor quality tiles!

I was thinking the same initially, but it all seems to have cleaned off now with the bathroom cleaning product I mentioned above. I must have left the grout on too long as Andy Allen suggested above.
