Its coming out because whatever this black stuff was stained the grey grout grey. Even if they managed to strip the tiles themselves back to the start condition, scraping the grout out to re grout them will scratch the sides of the tiles.

They have sent a new fitter now who seems to have his head screwed on.

Second time lucky....
