Being the cheeky bar steward that I am I replied to a message on works intranet today requesting anyone who knew of a kitchen fitter. I thought aye aye I'll see if I can nab the tiling for the splash backs here.
Anyway my mate has fitted a load of kitchens so I thought I might tip him a nod regarding this as well.
Turns out the lass has had various quotes ranging up to £4500 to fit, wait for it 13 units. That price was for fitting the units only, not installing the cooker, doing the splash backs and the floor, it's literally just the units.
So you can see where I'm going probably with this. DOes anyone have experience of quoting for a kitchen fit? How do you charge it. We have to rip out and dispose of th eold one. Build new carcasses. Install carcasses. Tile splash backs (I can do this bit obviously). Fit laminate flooring (I'm trying to convince her to go to a tiled floor instead).
Could be a nice little earner if I quote it right.

Aas always, a big thanks in advance for any advice offered.

So how does he quote a fit then?
I agree that £4500 is a total rip off (think the bloke was called Dick turpin or something )

Me and my mate are going to do the lot but I'm after how to quote for the ripping out, buiding and installation bit.

he charges £200.00 a day and works price on day work , materials extra .

Cheers again lads.
I'm going to see the job on the weekend mate so once I've seen it I'll know what were doing with it, and what were doing first. I'm goingto try and advise for a tiled floor for sure so I'll probably rip out the old kitchen and do the floor first. Then it'll likely be the units in after that. I'll have a better idea once I see the job though.

Almost got involved in a kitchen fitting business recently. The people now concerned fit for Wickes B&Q and MFI. When they first touted for business from these companies they were supplied with "charge sheets" - i.e what each company was prepared to pay fitters for the work. It was very detailed down to a level where they pay out at a set rate for each socket , oven point, light fittiing etc. Might be an idea to contact your local stores anf try to blag one of these sheets. Give you an idea then what they pay (and how much they overcharge the customer!!!)
