help levelling -up swimming pool floor

any suggestions for what i could use to level the floor of a swimming pool that has been insulated with metal panels that have been tanked with a spray-on tanking system epoxy ,with the last coat containing sand as a mechanical key for the tile adhesive , ordinary SLC is no good as it will not tolerate permanent submersion

That's a toughy i guess speak to technical at Mapei of all the adhesive manufacturers i guess these are the boys i would approach.
They may say level, then tank over with Mapelastic, which is a rubberised tanking system for this kind of application. But this is only a guess.

i have already asked Mapei tech they said try Adesilex p4 ? but it's an adhesive , B A L ran-away then said contact s-ball ?

Oh thats not good news is it. I know the adesilex can be used as a leveller, but i dread to think how smooth it would be. Bal don't make anything that will suit your purpose, and i may be wrong but i really doubt F-Ball do either.
How about a self levelling epoxy flooring product?? Surely Mapei have one of those????

we had the same problem the sand & cement base we did a year ago was all over the place and we had to flatten it out the best we could. We contacted ardex and they said to use their 301 ( think from memory its called that) its a leveling compound which can be used internally & externally and they said it was fine for the tank of a pool, it trowels and smooths out like an ordinary latex. give their technical line a call to see if its right for your job.

Thanks Kelvin , they did say the same to me today so i will be reading -up on it tonight other than that i might look at RONACRETE , it's going to be expensive i think , still hopefully this will teach them to get the floor right from the start !! did you guys give it a spiked roller ? or not

no problem, no we didnt use a spiked roller to be honest never used one will try one oneday. but we troweled it reasonably flat, good stuff to use.

well the discrepancy is about 5-6 mm, where the panels join they rise and it has left ridges ALAN

well it seems that ALL the leading tile adhesive makers have run for the hills,:yikes: the only company with anything like a solution seems to be Resin Bound, Resin Bonded, Screeds, Concrete Repair, Resin Flooring so far !

the issues with adhesive manufacturers is hat generally is their specialism. I think you need a thin screeds specialist. Have you tried Tremco or Flowcrete. Or even Sika who have specialist waterproof stuff.

yes done these today thanks Alan !, i'am only going to pass the info on the the main-contractor and let them make a decision as to what product to use !, as i dont want the liability to be on me!! rrr:
