hi clays mate....

Try and remove as much as you can...Then use an anti-degreaser..Then use bal bond sbr mixed with bal quick set cement and brush a slurry coat over the top . This will create a good base to tile too....

BAL Bond SBR
bond_sbr.jpg

A waterbased polymer with a wide variety of uses in the construction industry, particularly as an admixture and bonding agent for cement and concrete applications. Once cured, the polymer is water and frost resistant. BAL BOND SBR can be used as a slurry coat when mixed with hydraulic cement or gypsum plaster, as a multi-purpose admixture for cement:sand mortars, concrete and gypsum plaster; as a brush applied primer, sealer or dustproofer.

Suitable for use on cement:sand screeds, toppings or renderings, plastering, waterproofing, bonding, concrete repair, priming and sealing

BAL Quickset Cement
quick_set.jpg

Specially formulated cement for the preparation of rapid-hardening low shrinkage mortars to be used as screeds or renderings in interior, exterior and underwater locations. BAL QUICKSET CEMENT is sulphate resistant and ideal for use in wet areas including showers and swimming pools. Screeds are ready to receive foot traffic after 3 hours and ceramic tiles may be fixed after 24 hours. After 24 hours, the strength of BAL QUICKSET CEMENT screeds exceeds the level normally attained by conventional cement:sand screeds after 28 days.

The slurry bonding coat, comprising of 2 parts BAL QUICKSET
CEMENT to 1 part BAL BOND SBR (diluted 1:1 by volume with
water) by weight, should be brushed onto the concrete surface
