Hoping you can help! We have purchased 600 x 600 Brussels Polished Porcelain Tiles from Topps. We put tiles on our small kitchen worktop in cottage many, many years ago with success. Decided to have a change this size tile works perfectly and we were given -

Fila's Polished Porcelain Protector. Looked on their website and this one is not stated as suitable for use on food contact areas.

So we are stuck now until Monday moring to ring Fila.

Have any of you any thoughts on what product is out there that would be safe to use?

Would be really grateful for your advice.

welcome Protex impregnator is my choice not sure if you can get it there it is safe to use food prep areas

Thanks for your replies so it seems the one I have is not suitable. I only have 6 tiles to put down!

By the way I have been looking around on here and reading the problems of 'grease' on the tiles - should I also be cleaning these tiles first?

This was going to be a 'fill in' job whilst the snow was around......

Thanks for help really appreciated. I have seen - Aquamix ultra solv - would be OK but it seems I am stuck to get it locally this weekend? I should have said I am on the Somerset/Wilts/Dorset border any thoughts?

I went to Topps Tiles in Frome and have phoned them this morning and they have also agreed what I bought does not have anything on label.

No LTP stores on my doorstep - some distance to travel. Just phoned local B Merchants with no luck so will start phoning around local stone suppliers they might have something.

Aquamix have googled many can supply direct so job may have to be delayed.

Will keep looking though and are there any thoughts on this 'grease' issue that you can direct me to on other posts that may refer to my tiles.

Thanks

If you mean transit wax that many porcelain tile have on the surface, you can use methylated spirits to clean it of with a cotton cloth. Just try it on a spare tile first, and dispose of the cloth as it could be flammable.
