Just measured up a kitchen (1st ever job)

14sqm
1 window
4 sockets

tiled in a brick effect with 20 x 10 ceramics (small brick white ones)

Customer is going to supply mats

what should i charge?

Bear in mind this is my first job and really want it, dont want to over price but obviously dont want to under price to much either.

Also got his bathroom to do walls and floor,

Walls are 16sqm
with one window

Floor is 4 sqm

Not decided on tiles yet but told me he will not be using anything large or any mosaic,
what is price for this?

Thx again

Area is in the north west

Forgot to mention the bathroom is in a right state so the bloke is going to plasterboard it, presume this deffo needs tanking

I'd say £250 if you really want it 14sqm at £20sqm,I'd be going for £400 if it was me.
Bathroom about £400 while your still starting out I'd be charging about £550.
I always try to provide the adhesive and grout, offer 10% off for them so I make a fair bit on the adhesive and grout.
If he's supplying materials make sure he supplies the little things aswell such as Silicon and spacers, they all mount up when you have to pay for them.
I only do tanking if they have a shower,I always add £40 for installing it then keep the left over materials to charge the next customer the price of the tanking kit which s about £55.

Its really up to you though mate what to charge if you really want the job.But do remember you have to earn a living.

Just as an aside, I have a friend who had his kitchen done with the same tiles you are using set in brick bond (not by me - before i became professional). The tiler put up a white edge trim to finish off. Unfortunately, the heavy chamfer on the tiles does not look right because you end up with a large gap with a full tile finishing at the trim and then cut at 1/2 tile finishing at the trim. They have been cut in the wrong place. If you are going to be using a finishing trim, you may want to consider setting out so you have to cut the body of the end tiles on the 1/4 and 3/4 length so that you have the same thickness of tile at the trim. Looks much better.
