Help with quote

Council swimming pool gents changing room. Main area with three smalled rooms all inter-linked, no doors. 62 m2.

Remove all old 200 x 200 wall tiles. Make good the walls. Supplied wall to floor trims for flooring to be fixed by me.

Tile 100 x 200 slip white tiles to all walls. Supply adhesive and white grout and corner trims, around 12.

I'm lost for a price, so advice please , thanks, Fred.

hard to give a price till old tiles are removed Fred, what state will the walls be in after removal? Sounds like it'll keep you busy for a week or two though mate, nice one

Day rates for removal and prep - materials cost depends on what you pay for the gear - should be able to work that out yourself from previous invoices / knowledge of coverage. Fixing new tiles - look at time you think it would take and cost it on day rates, then also look at metre rate and see what figure fits both you and the customer best. Dont sell yourself short on prep time - as Doug says you dont know what making good is needed until old tiles removed, so either build in time, or put a variable in on quote

If you are unsure and they need a written quote, then give them that. Estimate your time and work it out from there. You do need to protect yourself if the walls are in bad shape. Are they providing skips etc etc. Me, I would work it out on time, add on a fair bit more and hold tight.

As mentioned Fred.........day rate for removal. Then whatever you want for meterage rate + materials

Need to remember that they will most doubt be getting a few quotes......unless your sleeping with your local gov officers wife :yikes: :lol:

I use to a price book called Wessex and used there guide for many years when plastering and have found it invaluable. Making good would have wait until your've seen whats underneath the tiles.

For taking up tiles half an hour per m2and loading into a skip as a guide, then any goods you need to hire or labourer that may be required
