No but a lot of tilers would also say you need to prime plasterboard I thought the idea of this forum was to encourage and help the less knowledgeable the guy is not a tiler and do you think you could be wrong about the primer and a little aggressive with him


I dont feel i was being aggressive, Pj, just get very frustrated when guys dont read the instructions and then im more frustrated when the product is blamed when its used incorrectly and then I RANT AND RANT!

Just to add here , Pete is correct.

Priming plasterboard is not a necessity as the adhesive is not in direct contact with the gypsum core.

It does not hurt to prime as it can extend the open time as moisture isn't sucked by the paper and IMHO , this is probs the cause of the first failure.

Moisture sucked by the paper and tile biscuit , so back skimming would have helped with the best contact.

Will think more Dave when i press the dreaded enter key :yikes:. im still right about gypsum products a grey cement. Make some calls monday mate and u will have the same answer.
