Is it the Unibond rapid set floor tile adhesive from B and Q in a red bag?

Yeah that's the one, however I seemed to have solved the problem.....fingers crossed!

Miced a fresh batch up early this afternoon and applied the adhesive to the tiles as opposed to the walls, slight twist/push and they seem to have stuck like *****

Wll update everyone tomorrow.......probably after picking them off the floor!!!

Dont like the sound of this?????

This adhesive requires you to seal the walls with a plaster primer. If you dont do this the adhesive (cement based) reacts with the plaster goes powdery and your tiles dont stick oh and they FALL OFF. (as with any cement based adhesive)

As usual, im sorry to say, people dont read the instructions and want to use the cheapest products then every one blames the product and the seller.

Nothing wrong with it if used CORRECTLY. Ring their technical help line, like i did, and they would have told you.

And guys i hate to be in court and your the jury!

Oh well, lives a *****, when you dont read the instructions.

I think the clue is what is says on the bag what this product does.

new bathroom/plasterboard walls shouldent need to Prime only bare plaster not the paper ? but trowel the walls and skim the tile as suggested not notch the tile

It still needs priming.

And "shouldn't" is not a good word to use, when it goes pear shaped. Its either yes or no.

Ring their technical help line and its a big FAT NO on to gypsum products with RAPID SET FLOOR TILE ADHESIVE.

This product also says on the back of the bag not suitable for gypsum products.

I dont want a argument about this mate but its what the manufacture said.

unibond bagged adhesive has always been very gritty in my experience and when mixed looks like grout(similar texture)its not very good on floors when i have used it, and always had that seperation issue i have in the past skipped the unibond stuff and used my own addy at my own cost, priming the walls/floors had no bearing on the outcome.

Well guys, half the bathroom complete and you can almost hang from the tiles.....very weird the tiles not sticking to the adhesive screed on the wall and yet when adhesive applied to the tile then stuck to the wall no problems??????

not weird, just either your adhesive was mixed too dry or had skinned over before you applied the tile.
