Had to go to the doc's thismorning about a lump in my stomach. Turns out its a hernia and im going to need surgery put it right..
Doc said its probably down to heavy lifting. No surprise when you look at some of the tiles were expected to fix..
So a word of warning....time to start looking after yourself if you can..

yes my belly button is herniated can be bothered about an op though, heart whent out of steady beat the other day as well so on more pills , don't get older lads its no fun......

Been there.done it. A word to the wise, if you don't mind. If you have the choice go for the keyhole operation its much less of a convalescence time. I had the other sort where they cut through several layers of skin/fat/lining/muscle/etc etc, repair the hernia (split in your stomach). Then they stitch each layer from the inside out. you end up with what looks like a finger buried in your stomach.............and mate the pain is not good, trust me. Good luck.

Just realised that obviously there is different types of hernia. You said stomach so I assumed it was the same as mine "inguinal" hernia. Very common in men, and the good news is if you get one your more likely to get another on the corresponding side!!. See its not just tillers that have OCD about things being balanced. God is just as bad.

Doc said it would be key hole. She said its best to get it sorted due to the job we do as it will just get bigger. And when it does pop out it is very uncomfortable and not much fun trying to push it back in ...lol

Its sn umbilical hernia just above the navel. .

Had the Op about 2 years ago.........keyhole surgery, bit of mesh sewn in. Still feels like a sizeable lump.

Your'll old man will be out and about for all to see.

Get yourself a truss........it really does help. I got a double hernia truss from fleabay because I had also heard that if you get one.......Your'll bound to get another.

Thats so true, when your younger you think your'll live for ever then old age hits you

My missus had an umbilical hernia caused by pregnancy, keyhole surgery through belly button under a general anasthetic, in and out in a day, 2 weeks no driving or lifting and that was that. Best of luck getting yours fixed.

How long did you have to have off work after the opp..

They told me 6 weeks.

I had a week.......then back to light duties, humping tiles......hands and knees, mixing, etc etc........can't afford to be off sick.
