Recently we had our bathroom renovated. Unfortunately we trusted that the bathroom would be expertly fitted over the two weeks we were away to avoid too much hindrance both sides.
Unfortunately we were quite shocked to see the awful, unprofessional state of the tiling within the shower. It appears that the walls were never levelled and even so from all the research that I have done since, I have been told that the job could have been very different if done by a qualified tiler. He had been referred by the plumber as "his tiler" so we assumed he was the real deal. We emailed the company to express just how disappointed we were with the poor finish of our bathroom. With other problems too, we decided to get some legal advice and were told that we would have to give them a chance to rectify it first which we have done.
Since 25th March (1 month ago) we have only had the tiles redone by the same tiler who we felt had a bit of attitude. The owner then announced his holiday for a week commencing the following day. Were then away with our disabled son which had been booked for some time and did not feel we wanted to be absent for any work being done.
The retile is much better than the first but we still feel that it is not a professional finish. There are still a few tiles with 1mm lippage and a few with more than 1mm. Where some lippage is, it goes across 2 tiles. The side edge of the tiles leaves up to a 5mm gap in places, where the shower bar is to be fitted on each side. With the spirit level we have we don't see that anything is level. The tray, the walls! The whole scenario has caused us so much stress and we are wondering why we have had to go through all this a second time.
Please can you advise whether or not you feel this is acceptable.
Thanking you in anticipation.
