Hi and welcome to the forum.....mulling over your options in my opinion is vital....not to put you off in anyway but due to financial climate times are tough out there, so please do think carefully, also only my opinion but i would tend to stay clear of short courses (others may disagree) but i believe they only give you a basic understanding of the trade. If i was starting in the trade now i would be looking at an extensive training course, followed by touting local tiling companies as a apprentice. The more experience you can get before venturing on your own the more confident you will be when you do.
