What should I do - the customer doesn't like the idea of paying extra for ditra matting?

:welcome: If he doesn't like this option then work away. I priced a swimming pool surround recently with a newly laid screed using natural stone. I recommend using de-coupling membane. I didn't get the job as he was paying peanuts. A capenter mate of mine went in after the tiles were fixed and he said it was a right mess a tiles were cracking etc so it's best to be safe than sorry!

Hi, thanks everyone for your replies I really appreicate it. Just one more questions the customer is having a very expensive kitchen fit with a kitchen island that will placed over the tiles & under floor heating, the island also includes a fridge and wine cooler - yes I know this is crazy, as the fridge will be working over time trying to keep everything cold, while the under floor heating is on. Could this cause localised heating effect and cause damage to the flooring? Thanks

JUst re-read the post.

Wet ufh.. so as long as ventilation is under the appliances then they should be fine but this will need to checked with the tech line for the appliances.
