hey guys,
i'm a tiler living in australia at the moment. I'm married to an english lass and she wants to come back to england and live for a while, so i need some info on working here. I've been tiling for 15 yrs, have my own business employing 9 tilers which o've just sold. most of my experience is in the commercial field, having done tiled hotels, warehouses, shoping centres, apartment buildings, airports etc.
have laid everything from cheap chinese wall tiles to granite cladding and everything inbetween.
I would like to know if there are any large commercial companies around the london area i could contact.
Also what the pay is like over there. Is it paid on meterage laid, if so how much, or hourly, if so how much?
I have also spent time working in Fiji, supervising tilers building hotels and i also work in a supervisory capacity at the moment, so i wouldn't mind working as a supervisor. i'd rather work on the tools though as you get a lot more job satisfaction if you do it yourself.
Any info at all you guys could give me would be greatly apreciated.
thanks for your time
