hi new to this forum

This must of been on this forum a few times. Im a floor and kitchen fitter by trade but have a tiling job for someone i know. Just finished the kitchen which looks great. Removed all the tiles in the bathroom walls and the skim has come off. Can I tile directly to the bonding/undercoat? It all appears very straight with no real level issues. can I just pva the walls as the plaster is pretty flaky and dusty and tile or does it need skimming or any other sealer etc.

Welcome along, you can't tile directly over the bonding coat it will need to be patched in with skim and please don't use PVA, use a primer suitable for tiling.

either skim it(use your pva) or dot and dab it all

but not to use pva for the tiling part

do you mean primer for tiling onto?

A 1:3 SBR and water mix is what i normally use
