Hi all... I'm from Dundee in Scotland and am considering taking a tiling course in the near future (once I've saved up for one lol) as I want to become a professional tiler and have my own business. I think I'll do the NETT 5 day course maybe around Jan 2008.
I plan on staying in my full time job until I get things up and running. My friends uncle does tiling and once I've done the course I think I'll ask him if he can take me for a day or two to show me what he does etc. Do you think this is a good idea? I wont ask him for any pay obviously.
My mum knows plumbers, joiners, plasterers etc as she worked for the council in the housing dept years ago and I think if I got to know a few of them this would help me when pursuing my tiling carrer as I hear knowing other tradesmen can be a key point of making money.
So glad I found these forums...
