Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a similarity between the hitachi kit and makita! :45:

I think most copy each other marc........but a good drill tho..especially for k/fitters...

Nah im a Dewalt man myself have been for ten years now! :8:

would rather spend a bit more and get a better product, hitachi are aimed at the DIY hence why wickes stock them, makita are now going the same way

Dewalt all the time for me,li-ion batterys or ni-mh are now standard and are far superior to Ni-cad

bosch for me, altho' most joiners i know use hitachi, makita, de walt. But yes Dave, a very good deal i think

I use makita myself,but a good deal there.hard to beat the LI-ION batteries though!!!!

I managed to get basically the same deal as above, but with Li ion batteries from my local Jewsons. They were sellign off left over stock from a promotion they had. I bought it for £85 plus vat.

Personally I wouldn't entertain it with the Nicad batteries above my makita 18v (also with Nicad).

The Li ion is good though, but my advice is try to avoid the 1.5ah ones that Hitachi do, they aren't brilliant, even the Hitachi technicians aren't impressed with them.
