Honed slate

Can anyone give me any advice on getting a few scratches out of honed slate tiles. I don't want to make the surface look too dull or too shiny with the wrong grade of honing powder. If it is too difficult I will pass the job on.

You can get scratches out of slate using a sander with carborundum paper

problem is, although it's honed it have a fine finish and almost looks polished

Take the scratches out with carborundum and then bring it back to polished with finer and finer paper

If you have not done this before the its not a job for you. Honed / polished slate is usually a soft slate which is very very difficult to finish.
