Hello Dan,

Tried to go to the tile forum...was told it was an invalid link.

I've just put down 34m2 of UFH and ready to hook up. My thermostat says it should be connected to a 15 amp circuit, so I chose the hot water heater circuit which is 15 amp.

The thermostat boots up fine, but when the hot water heater kicks in it trips the circuit. On the themostat there was no connection for the earth wire coming from the circuit so I wound the earth wire on one of the tap cons I used to secure the (plastic) electrical box to the wall.

The earth is connected in the breaker box, but is my earth to the tap con not enough?

I will be getting an electrician to sign off on the work once completed but was hoping that you or someone on the forum could give me a clue as to what is causing the circuit to trip.

Also, the ring main for two of the zones I'm hoping to hook up to are rated at 30 amp. Will this be OK for the thermostat even though the instructions call for 15 amp?

thanks a lot

Richard Lindley
