I would definetly let sit for 2 to 3 weeks but depends how quick it dries,it has to get to a certain moisture content to be sure,if the heat in the house is nice and steady it will dry quicker,i actually seen two pillars on a dance floor painted this week 2 days after skimming !!!!! wow.i certainly wouldn't have tiled on them.

Hi

Bal are quoting from British Stanfdard 5385 which would be the case with all responsible adhesive manufacturers.

It isn't just drying out as it takes this time also for the plaster to develop sufficient cohesive strength to support the weight of tiling and adhesive that is going to be applied on to it.
