How soon can I tile once the walls have been plastered

Hi all,
Neighbours asked me to take 47.5m2 of tiles of two bathroom walls,she said if needed she will get them plastered, do I have to wait about 3 weeks before I can start to tile,to ensure the walls are dried out.

I would definetly let sit for 2 to 3 weeks but depends how quick it dries,it has to get to a certain moisture content to be sure,if the heat in the house is nice and steady it will dry quicker,i actually seen two pillars on a dance floor painted this week 2 days after skimming !!!!! wow.i certainly wouldn't have tiled on them.

Normally 24hr/mm thickness of plaster as far as i am aware.

If it's a 2-3 skim I look for a visual on drying out, If a float and set you will be looking at about 6 weeks for total drying out. Dry linning very fast track, Nextday.

Saw the customer today andlooks like i wont be tiling it now for at least a month now anyway,so should be okay.

Plaster should be left for a minimum of 4 weeks british standards not everyone does as plaster can dry quicker in different situations

Bal are quoting from British Stanfdard 5385 which would be the case with all responsible adhesive manufacturers.

It isn't just drying out as it takes this time also for the plaster to develop sufficient cohesive strength to support the weight of tiling and adhesive that is going to be applied on to it.
