If its washing off, this is the answer.

Washing off with this washboy literally halves the time it would take to do the old fashioned way. Can't believe I've taken so long to get one.

Morning people!

I use a washboy for walls and floor. I wouldn't be without one. I have different sponges for different colour grouts as well.

Depending on the type and brand of floor grout you are using, some are more course. For example BAL superflex. I find spreading this and the actions of doing so stiffens it up. I wouldn't advise mixing it up "wetter" than it should be. The grout can sink a little if it's applied too wet.

TIP: Get yourself a small spray bottle of water, with "mist" spray function. (Available at any DIY store or garden centre) When the grout starts getting a bit stiff give it a quick spray with the water bottle to loosen it up a little.

If you want to speed up the cleaning process, be a bit more liberal about how much you apply. Concentrate on spreading over the joints rather than the whole floor. If that makes sense?

I find that washing off too quick can cause just as many problems as too late.
I tend to grout the floor, and as soon as it starts to dry on the face, to give it a rough once over with the wash boy, then you can have a brew or put the tools in the van etc for 15 mins or so. Then when the floor has hazed over give a final wash, the grout in the joints will be well firmed up by now.
