Ticking along nicely, booked about 5 or 6 weeks in advance (which is how I like it) and it seems to be staying that way, each week I'm quoting and winning work so I'm happy

I've done one job in wales this year at colwyn bay railway station and have a few more lined up,but I do commercial as well as domestic and I know lads who have been doing refurbs in wales for the last 3 years with 2 more to follow there is work out there mate.

Only had one day off since the 5th of Jan, but got a couple of free days now so will use them to try and grow the business!

All good here, I can't remember a January with so much noise, and buzz for future business, nice position to be in, and as from the 2nd week of February, notoriously the whole market picks up. we have large projects until the end of May that will keep us all busy, and no doubt the usual suspects will have pop their heads up. I notice this year already, a lot of high end and large projects are being organised much quicker than usual, as the industry in general expects a shortage of skilled labour, especially in tiling, so expect the usual influx of people wishing to join the gold trail this year as recession comes to a close to start leaving their offices, to train as tilers. I suspect that this Spring will be outrageous with an abundance of enquiries, and to be mindful of what project you really want, as opposed to taking everything on ;-)

Ive enjoyed 2015 so far, just focusing solely on the tiling now and building that back up again.

I got out of all the renovation work after 3 years of jumping back and forth due to people over promising and under delivering?? Too many non payers and unreliable people who mess you about and hold you back.

anyway, i'd rather try and have no regrets rather than look back and think what if.
good to see so many people doing well and to see some of the old faces again ;0)

I had 2 builders decide to call it a day before xmas, One due to health and the other retiring. They were a good percentage of my income so it left a big hole for me. Both were sudden decisions and wasnt forseen my myself and other trades. In November there was talk of lots of work happening in January but it hasnt come off.
Someone else will pick up from where they left off (probably the subbies) but its a delay.
I took some sub contract work on recently which seems to be ok but sods law as soon as I did, my contacts started ringing and now I am fighting to keep everyone happy and do all the work.
I think i will be switching from sub contract for others to my own stuff ths year, try and find a way to balance it out.
