cheers for the moral support guys, I think the best bet for me would be to buy a new, but I haven't ruled out lease hire.

this is the problem, I need a van but I dont want to but a used van for little money and run the risk of it happening again. i'm cursed when it comes to vecheals you see.

I plan on not being here in 5 years time so if i but new it will hopefully be in great nick with very low mileage when i come to sell my business b4 i go to oz.

I would but a transporter over any other but they are a lot dearer that there competitors.

oh and bri van was very well looked after.

New a guy who had to change his engine in a Movano, it had only done 75000 miles.

Leasing maybe the way, never done it myself

Sorry to hear Prem. Its a ***** when these things happen.

May get a deal from LDV :yikes:

lol trust you.

posted on window cleaning forum and the usual jokers came up with the same reply

Seriously go and have a look at the leasing option. Depending who you go to, you may be able to lease a van for up to 5 years. Then when you're looking to move abroad, you just send the van back at the end of the contract term. No hassle of having to sell it etc.

Leasing companies are willing to do good deals at the moment too. They want to sell vehicles and they want you to finance it too. If you're having the van over a long period of time, you may be able to get away with a relatively small deposit.

My corsa is leased and I paid 3 rentals up front as a deposit so I can bring my monthly cost down, but if you're having it over say a 4 or 5 year term, the cost should be lower to start with.

You could purchase a brand new van outright on regular hire purchase finance, but you'll still have the pain of selling it on. With a leased vehicle, you just send it back!

Just try and keep it in good condition if you get one. Hubby has scratched 3 out of 4 of his alloy wheels on his Volvo, and they're diamond cut alloys :yikes: We have to pay for the repairs to the alloys before the car goes back... his excuse was he didn't realise how wide his car was :ninja:

i've had a butchers at the lease site looks like they want a £2000 deposit?

If your leasing a new commercial vehicle you will have to pay the vat up front, Same applies if you are buying a new van

VW transporters are very good vans, I choose a LWB 639 Merc Vito as its depreciation value was lower than the VW and with the RWD it would drive in all weathers. 3Yrs on and i have had very few issues and the ones i did have where sorted immediatly under warranty

06 plates can be picked up from a dealer for around6.5k+vat, My local dealer also had a good rental deal and was around £160 per month over a 1 year rental
