Hi All,

Firstly I'm not a tiler! I've just moved in with my partner and I'm looking to rent out my flat, before doing so the maintenance people for the management company have been doing some repairs and found one wall of the shower cubicle to be completely rotten. Which leaves me with the usual dilemma of not being able to find matching tiles and what to do. Obviously I could go similar or contrasting colour tiles, however I think that might look like an obvious repair job and so I was thinking about a feature type shower.

I quite like the design of this:

Teriffic Modern Walk In Shower Decors With Frameless Glass Doors And Wood Tile Bathroom Wall Panels Ideas With Batroom Seating Designs | Ceramic Tile That Looks Like Hardwood Flooring Wood Look Ceramic Tile Flooring in Inspiration Category | TovTov

However I read on here that split face tiles are unhygienic. So looking around I saw these:

Montana Beige

From the description it says they're an imiation split face that can be used on wet walls, has anyone got any experience of them? I would have thought the faces would still trap dirt etc?

Thanks,

Haydn.

Talk about lippage on the horizontal tiles! Teriffic Modern Walk In Shower Decors With Frameless Glass Doors And Wood Tile Bathroom Wall Panels Ideas With Batroom Seating Designs | Bathroom Floor Tiling Ideas Ceramic Tile Flooring That Looks Like Wood Planks in Inspiration Category | TovTov

On a rental property always keep it low maintainance and reasonable quality so It will last.
Split face will be the worst things you will gave ever tiled with and on top of that are no good in a wet area.

The Montana tile you mention is quite a nice tile to work with, I've used it as a feature tile in a couple of showers. It's a solid tile so no worries with water getting through. I thought I had a couple of pictures but, as usual I've either deleted them or they're lost in the 1000's of pics on my phone 🙂

Yeah it gets grouted, wasn't too bad to do either, I was dreading it but, with grout 3000 it was fairly painless, probably 1 extra wash only.
