Waterproof PVC?

PVC is plastic. So he'd have a hard job sticking PVC on his walls and tiling over that. Plus I doubt without clever jointing he'd get it water tight.

If it's PVA, which is the glue, then it still wouldn't be water tight. PVA is woodwork glue and glue for children as it's water based. When water-based products get wet they usually break down into a liquid again or at least loose form and rigidity.

What you use to waterproof an area would probably be some form of tanking system (wet or dry) or tile back board with jointing tape. It would really depend on the job specifications and requirements, and obviously budget comes into play also.

Hope this helps. :)

(I know i've already answered in chat but I thought I'd answer here to for reference)

Hi guy's,

Can you just settle an argument for me...

My work colleague recently tiled his bathroom and i said did he put a waterproof membraine on the wall.

He said no and that all he done was put waterproof pvc (i,m guessing adhesive) on the wall and that this would be fine???

What do you guys think???

Hey Saambo is your mate a dominatrix or a gimp per chance, using some of the spare PVC on the walls for tiling..?
