so I did some baking myself today

a bag of wrinkly apples in the fridge inspired the pie...

a bag of self raising flour in the cupboard inspired the fairy cakes

and the remnants of a jar of jam inspired the viccy spoinge :drool5:

but it's unfortunate that hubby now realises i'm capable of baking and cooking. what with his arm being in a sling (fractured elbow) he's unable to do a lot of stuff, and he was unable to take over whilst in the kitchen :lol:

as for calories Dave, keep the pieces small.... this little lot is planned to last us all week and into the coming weekend :hurray:

I asked Jana to make a recipe with no oil in it, and reduced sugar. These still tasted great because of the applesauce and the raisins. The problem is that I ate three of them. :incazzato:

Lou had an afternoon baking yesterday..... ginger bread, eccles cakes, almond slice, flap jack, australian crunchie, grasmere gingerbread and coffee puffs.

must be something in the air today, half way through my wifes lemon bread, first time shes managed to bake one of these in years. (surplus of lemons, didn't drink enough gin!)

That's the trouble, isn't it.. there is no way Liz's cakes, or mine for that matter would last longer than 2 days in our house :lol:
