where are you based now if not in molesey. I would love to try the sigma 10l overhead saw .
normally when i see the single rail saws i steer clear as the head always veers offline. but if this is as well made as previous sigma saws i own then this could be the exception.
if i was just cutting stone in workshop i would buy the bam 1320, which is hands down the best cutter on market,(with exception of maybe karl dahm saw) well worth the extra money but not easy to lug about on a weekly basis.
for smaller cutters no one could ever beat the rubi box cutter 15-20 years ago.cant remember the model name but it was the rolls royce and came with a hefty price tag.i think it was £ 900.00 plus even all that time ago. in those days if you were a marble man doing 300 x 300 in bathrooms ( limestone specialists did not exist!!)this was the only cutter to have.
i only changed to sigma when you brought out the 9 and 10m which was better suited for bigger format when limestone started to make its appearance mid 90s.

Based down in Portsmouth now John. To expensive to live in Surrey. Sigma don't do any overhead rail cutters now. They not done them for some time. 10M9 is the largest machine we do.

ive used them all and i really tried to like sigma but i always go back to rubi. just feel more comfortable using them. they come with a few faults but so do i so we are make a good team ;0)

I think at the end of the day it's all about choice no?. If you walk in to a tile shop and only see one particular brand on show then theres not really any choice. I think stores should do more with other brands not just a selected few. That way you could all make your own minds up and choose what works well for you. With regards to Sigma I can say that Ireland have had them for well over 30yrs and Scotland not far off that. Newcastle and Manchester are using Sigma more now so it's starting to come further down south. I say if you can get your hands on one to try then why not?.

cant for the life of me see why you have quoted what i have written because none of it has any relevance to what you have written?? or have I lost something in translation?

you have to ask yourself why tile shops dont stock them, is it the shops fault or sigmas, im not calling sigma as iv never seen one but shurly if there as good as you say they are theyd be in there, all tilers want the best tools to make the job easier but if its not on show anywere its a big gamble to take, all the best everyone for2013.

Hence why Sigma now have a manager like Derek in the uk , they only normally sell from reputation but the more the uk cotton on to a superior brand then sales can only go up and be more available uk wide.(which they now are ) ..

Well it's not Sigma? some stores don't want to take on new products partly because of money and investing in stock and also demand from end users. Plus we have not been in the UK long so it's new to some people. That said it's getting more popular and already some big well known stores have been in touch looking at the new year to do something.
