I will be sticking with rubi never had a problem with them so if it is not broke don't try and fix it. But if you love your free bees then I suppose you have to prostitut your self a bit

i think you get your monies worth on a good cutter in 3 years if you use it every day.
it may sound strange but i use the lighter weight aluminium dual rail overhead saws nowasdays knowing that they start falling to bits after a couple of years.but as long as they have a head that does not veer off and gives straight true cut on a long length coupled with the light weight which is really important for handling and getting in and out of van and on site then i live with this problem.
I lost one of my best emplotees to a back problem form lugging around a norton clipper 100cm and i wont let that happen again. the saw still works though !!!

Not for me I'm afraid, had a Sigma for a couple of months and couldn't get on with it. Didn't cut any better than the Rubi TX range and the restricted view of the cut line was awkward. I agree that they are good cutters but, I couldn't make one work for me.

LOL.. i say what i see Dean.. so much so my Rubi cutters are gone.. i never dreamt i would ever be steered away from Rubi after so so many years using them.. but i was given the opportunity to try out a Sigma .. yes it was free and i have not hidden that fact!!.. but i do not promote anything if it is cheap crap...

Over the yrs i have had loads of gear from Rubi uk and the only cutter to stand the test has been the tx700 , the paddle mixers to wetsaws all cheap chinese imports .. so not high end tools that Rubi should be selling to keep their uk users happy.

Anyway , i have tried Sigma and yes i do believe now after many yrs of debate that they do truly out perform Rubi cutters. now that is fact!!.. so call me a prostitute or what ever but at least i am not to proud to say i was wrong by dissing a brand that i had not even used before.

Now i have , i am glad to say they are what other Sigma users say they are.. Simples as that..

ive used them all and i really tried to like sigma but i always go back to rubi. just feel more comfortable using them. they come with a few faults but so do i so we are make a good team ;0)

where are you based now if not in molesey. I would love to try the sigma 10l overhead saw .
normally when i see the single rail saws i steer clear as the head always veers offline. but if this is as well made as previous sigma saws i own then this could be the exception.
if i was just cutting stone in workshop i would buy the bam 1320, which is hands down the best cutter on market,(with exception of maybe karl dahm saw) well worth the extra money but not easy to lug about on a weekly basis.
for smaller cutters no one could ever beat the rubi box cutter 15-20 years ago.cant remember the model name but it was the rolls royce and came with a hefty price tag.i think it was £ 900.00 plus even all that time ago. in those days if you were a marble man doing 300 x 300 in bathrooms ( limestone specialists did not exist!!)this was the only cutter to have.
i only changed to sigma when you brought out the 9 and 10m which was better suited for bigger format when limestone started to make its appearance mid 90s.
