Hello, my husband is about to tile the bathroom floor with 300x600 floor tiles in brickwork style. He wants to do a 2 mm gap as it looks better, but adhesive states 3mm gap. Will they crack if he does a 2 mm gap.

Thanks

Hiya!
Really 2mm is too small for a floor tile, i'd stick to 3mm. I doubt they'll crack, but these are not small tiles and reducing the gap size will make it really difficult for your hubby to get a flat floor.

2mm is the minimum BS but wouldn't recommend it on a floor tile that size. Minimum for me would be 3mm as Bugs said

British standards on floor tiling i believe is 3mm. But it is down to you. Depending on tile, substrate and products being used may determine if you will get away with 2mm. What grout are you intending on using?
