Is anyone else quiet?

Hi chaps!

I have been away which mean I have missed out on some work but since I have come back I have had very little in the way of enquiries. I have only got one job booked in and thats just a small fireplace job!

Just wondered if anyone else is quiet? I know the more established guys will probably still have there contract work etc i mean more the other newer and domestic only guys like me......

I haven't much on at the moment, but there again, I have a full time shift job and I tile around that on my 4 days off.

Just off to grout a kitchen splashback this morning then Im free after that, but I have a full bathroom wall job and kitchen through to utility floor to quote locally too, so I might end up getting that to do which will fill my off days up for a couple of weeks.

There again I still have not advertised myself that much really yet.

Seems whenever I get out posting leaflets door to door I end up with calls within the week, so that's what I'll be doing again next week if I don't get a yes from this next quote I have to do.

Current customers family needs a kitchen and bathroom doing too, and someone at my wifes work needs her kitchen doing, and I've got a customer I quoted to "complete" his DIY tiling in his kitchen and he'll have the money for that in a week or 2 so I might get them, so as it stands right now I haven't much on, but within the week I could end up being packed out for weeks.

So we'll have to see what happens.

I've been quiet only got a tile repair to do on friday and a small floor 7m2 on monday things went really bad when i came back from holiday not one call, still keep trying plugging away at it

Yeah must admit I am getting a bit worried too! It all started so well but now I am beginning to wonder..........

There seems to absolutley LOADS more tilers even since I started about 4 months ago. There are more advertising locally and many new ones every day on here!

was quiet a few weeks ago but picked up now, having 2 weeks off atm but not really had it off as i have been out doing quotes. Booked up for about 6 weeks starting off monday when my break finishes.

I've gone quiet last couple of weeks - trying to sell my house at the mo and typically for me anyway the markets gone **** up - people are just waiting to see what happens with house prices / interest rates etc. does affect business as well - people not spending just now - hope it gets better soon for us all!

I'm a bit quite aswell which is pissing me off,it makes all the good money I've made not seem that great when its spread out for days when I'm not working.

Might be something to do with putting kids back to school,usually works out at least £100 per child when you buy shoes,lunchbox,stationary,new uniform and sports kit.
If you havemore than 1 kid its an expensive month.

Glad it's not just me! Maybe I need to get out and do some more advertising. I haven't needed to do any other than my ad in the local paper.

Leaflet dropping may be a good idea. I have um'd and arr'd about doing it a few times but if it works for others then it should work for me too!

Everytime I have gone out door to door with leaflets I've always recieved calls from them.
Seem to have had quite a few calls through Yell.com lately too.
