Is ivory floor grout a bad idea?

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but is ivory grout a bad idea for the floor upstairs ensuite? Does sealing actually work. Or will it just look dire in a short space of time.

This is not a dirty house and shoes are left at the front door!

The tiles are light cream and the light silver grey grout option just looks a bit lousy to my eyes.

I always discuss the pro's and con's of light grout on floors with the customer, sometimes they are adament that they want ivory/cream and sometimes they change their minds when they realise it might not stay that colour for long. Its all about personal preference, a good quality grout will clean.

discuss the pros and cons with client, but at the end of the day it's their choice. You tile and grout it then leave, they will have to live with it.

I have done quite a few jobs with Mapei Jasmine and other makes of Limestone etc. never had any complaints but I do make it clear that if they mess the floor up on a regular basis then it wont last .

I find Mapei jasmine grout (ivory in colour) to be brilliant for bathroom or any floor, also it takes minutes to apply a sealer on grout on a normal size bathroom floor...So go for it!!!

I should have said I AM the customer! This is for our ensuite.

I'm a seasoned DIY'er not a plumber, so not to up on the pros and cons.

If you want ivory, have it! It will be ok in a bathroom/ ensuite as it's not really an area of high footfall like a kitchen or hallway.

As the client this is totally up to you. Naturally the grout will colour if not sealed correctly or the floor not cleaned regularly. I have tiled many floors with light coloued grout and as with everything else if it is done right and looked after correctly then you should have no problems!

Mapei jasmine grout as mentioned above is one of the best ones, mention this to your tiler to get their opinion as well
