There is a way you can check to see if your content on your website that is genuine to you and your website has been plagerised .

Other sites copying your content can affect your site rankings , i used >>> Copyscape Plagiarism Checker - Duplicate Content Detection Software and have found a few tilers who have pinched wording from my website ... Shame on you ..

Any tilers i find that have pinched content from my website and it affects my site in anyway will be asked to remove said content ...

Can you stop them using the same wording?

Under plagerism laws you could if you can prove the content is original and yours.... it is a handy tool to see who is copying your content though..

Those that have copied mine is small amount of wording and not too worried about it but large amounts of content copying can affect your rankings as google knocks you for repeat wording over and over again etc.

Would probably not be the tiler who has copied, more likely the developer who made the site. Also, to make a certain site easily found then its all the same words that would be used so how anyone can copyright words or certain sentences with one or 2 words changed is beyond me. Same as peter though, id only be worried if my pictures where being stole ( in fact, that would not worry me either, would make me feel good haha)

Its happened to me. One guy copied a whole page of testimonials from my site, just changing the name and the town. I was pretty annoyed as I'd worked damned hard to gain such good testimonials. I rang him and he claimed that he didnt know and assumed the person who created his site must have done it. Whether that true or not, the guy did have the decency to remove the stolen text. I havent checked lately but I know of 3 other websites that have copied another page from my site. Even though I created the page, text and pics, the info is fairly generic and whilst I own the copyright to the material I have not pursued it.
For everyones information, if someone has copied material to which you own the copyright, the best solution is to write to them giving full details and ask them to remove it within 7 days. Tell them that if they dont, you will write to their hosting company and file a DMCA report with Google. These last 2 actions are likely to result in the whole website being taken down.

I've just checked my site and your on it Dave!!

In fairness I copied some of your text to quickly get up and running, and gradually modified it later, i guess a few phrases remain,
I did ask your permission first though,
I'll try and change a few more things in case google knocks you.

There is a way that you can put your signature onto your photos to stop them from being used if they do get use by someone you then have proof of ownership I have been trying to find out about this software may be some one might know on here ?
Yes its called a watermark. You can get software to do this but, with computers being the way they are these days, if there's a program to put one on, there'll be another one to take them off.
