It's good for taking out the bottom of frames and small amounts of grout but regrouting a full bathroom I tend to avoid like the plague.

Me too! And I've been honest with people who have asked me to do it and told them my price will be ridiculously high due to the fact it's a naff job that I hate doing!

I have been regrouting alll day and I have about another 2 1/2 days to do in a leisure centre shower room. Done it by hand and although its an improvement ...1, it wont last due to inadequate extraction and 2, the original tiling is bad plus they have bodged it many times. Only did it because my extra high quote was actually accepted !!!

That always helps soften the blow a bit Neale! Sounds like you're trying to polish a turd though mate!!
I had a 60m2 floor to do a few months back for a shopfitting firm. I gave them a stupid price that they accepted. Fortunately a subby a use was happy to do it which was nice!

I have a bosch blue version (screfix have them for £99 at the mo) and it's removed grout before removing the individual tiles without damaging surrounding ones, took time but good job of it. Today I trimmed architrave bottoms before I lay a floor tomorrow, for trimming it's spot on. It's useful for loads of jobs and a must have tool really.

Is that the cordless one pal? I used to have the green Bosch 10.8V It was a great bit of kit for occasional use but as I started to use it more and more I realised it was a bit DIY and I wished I'd invested in something more substantial...which I have now! The blue ones are up to the job more though from what I've heard

what about an angle grinder? feel I could do anything with this new one :sofahide:
Credit where it's due Ash, that picture you posted of the architrave you cut round was spot on! If you keep paying attention to detail like that you'll do well. However if you had a multi tool you could have trimmed the bottom and slid it under saving a lot of time:thumbsup:

its a motorised saw similar to multi tool, but its not multi its just got the saw piece... gave me a few blades too I will try it when I have room for error lol
When you've marked a tile you need to cut just draw the line again 10mm bigger than you need. that way if you do go a bit wrong you can go back to the original method on the right line without wasting the tile
