good stuff - i think the most likely place a customer might want a mosaic in a domestic situtation would be a bathrrom.
You could try some with an aquatic theme - fish swimming around etc.. - you could then show it to people in your portfolio when you get bathroom work as a possible central feature.

or you could go could go down more artisic route like this fella:-

thanks for you comments , i've thought about arts and craft fairs but need more pics yet , i think if i were do incoporate into a wall or floor i'd have to do day rate. the picture above took me 3 days to complete so its quite a long process . the pic above quite big too 1.5 m by just over a meter .

think i'd have to aim for the rich .......shaun

There is a market for mosaic work but it can be difficult to break into.
To incorporate it into a wall it needs to be made using the indirect method, that is tiles fixed face down to a removable material so when the mosaic if fixed the tiles a fully flush.

Here is a link to a mosaic magazine website:
Mosaic Matters - the online magazine for all things mosaic

There is work in community projects etc as well as private commissions but it is a hard field to break into.

Sorry, I had to go out earlier and had to make that a quick post.

I have done a fair bit of mosaic, and a mate of mine's girlfriend is a mosaic artist.
She works in glazed ceramic tiles like your example but there are glass tessaere (think that's how you spell it) the type used in swimming pools as in the fish pic that are available from specialist suppliers in numerous colours.

My mates girlfriend gets commissions for all sorts of things from pictures like yours to table tops, bathroom floors and bath and sink splashbacks, even a headboard for a bed, street door numbers and shop front signs.

I can't tell you how she charges, but she has sold pictures about 14inx14in for about £100-£150. She makes them with smaller pieces than yours, and yours looks like it has taken some intricate cuts that might be time consuming and not be viable for time x cost.
She does more the type of picture below.

Down the right hand side is a list of artists you can click on their name and view their websites showing the type of work they produce.
