Hi

Just a few questions peeps,

1. What adhesive and grout would you recommend to fix 600 x 300 porcelain to chipboard or do i have to backerboard it first? (Floor) 3.5 sqm

2. What adhesive and grout would you recommend to fix same tiles to plasterboard? (patch up job around the toilet)

3. What adhesive and grout would you recommend to fix same again onto plywood? (bath panel)

4. Can i use the same for all 3 projects?

5. And can i buy magnets from anywhere so that i can make a access door?

6. OHHH and how much would you charge??

Personally I would hardibacker the floor, then a rapid set flexi with admix for extra flexi and a flexi wide joint grout.

3.5m2 of chipboard isn't a big floor, is the floor solid? If so I would go straight down with Ardex-flex 7001 after priming with P51. Hardiebacker for floors doesn't really add much strength in my opinion. Just extra money to spend that may not be necessary. You could use 7001 for the bath panel too. For grout have a look at Mapei utracolor, ardex FL or BAL equivilants.

For the wall BAL SPF will do fine but you will need to prime first with BAL APD. Microflex for Mapei grout again for the walls also.

Yes the floor is solid grumpy, Can i get Ardex-flex 7001 from topps as this is only place I've got a trade account at the moment or ctd?

Not Topps as far as I am aware Monty, I have never seen it in there but definately CTD.

What material and thickness would you recommend for the bath panel,it needs to hold 600 x 300 porcelain and needs to be able to come off for access for plumbing?

cheers dave.. how would i make it as 1 unit if they only come in 1200 x 600? (or is it 1200 x 800) and will it be ok to screw in each corner with mirror screws?

You only need to be in at the tap end...so just make a small access panel...... with magnets and Silicon joint that can be cut to gain access.......

The tiles are 600 x 300 so would you make it the size of 1 tile? I did that on my first job under a sink but it was ply....I cut a notch out the size of a tile minus 25 mm all the way around put 4 battons around the hole so that i could screw magnets on and then like you said siliconed it and it looked great...can this be done with hardiebacker??
