Just got Started

Just tiled my first bathroom after completing a 4 day tiling course. Put boarder tiles all the way round too. Everything lined up and the window reveal looked tidy with the trim on it. Mostly went well. Also put new taps on the sink and bath. Only prob was when I came to put the radiator back on. The pipe started weaping. Am going back on Friday to drain down the system and fit a new radiator valve. Only plus point is that the job is for my mother in law. So at least she is abit more understanding then your average customer.

the best way to go, are you a pluber or handyman aswell. if you are you could do really well for yourself. put your pics on the tile gallery

nice 1 mate, yet to do the course but atleast doing it for the mother-in-law gives you a bit more confidence 1st. or if you've got one like mine RUN!

Thanks for your comments folks. Have done a bit of all sorts in the past, just for myself and friends. E.g building, plastering,decorating and had a go at kitchen fitting. Really enjoy the tiling though and hope to make it my main source of income when I take volentary redundancy from my current job in October.

Well done Nige. Every time you do rads, hold the valve with a pair of pipe grips (or similar) whilst you wrestle the nut with a spanner, especially when it's 10mm pipe or even 8mm! Earned 80 quid last year from a bloke who used to take his own rads off!!
