Hi Doug, i do a bit of rock climbing. It's becoming a very popular sport now as we have 5 different centres within 25 miles. planning trip to the Langdales later this year and aslo trip the Spain. locally we have quite a lot outside too in the Peaks.

Love Langdales, my eldest son is named after one of the Pikes ("Harrison" Stickle) altho' my wife seems to think we called him after her maiden name lol!

Yes, could work - if you don't have any bone spurs, and you are light after all, so all the pushing up could work really well for you. If you do have bone spurs, not so good, they are a royal pain in the, ehm, knee, as I know...

Ah, he'll be tied in, the rock climbing ropes are amazing, hold up to two tons, and are a little elastic, so even if you fall there isn't much of a jolt

last session on my course tomorrow, can't wait to be let loose on some lakeland fells! got a harness, climbing shoes (hell they're tight!) and belay set today as I fully intend on carrying on. I'm very surprised at how supple I am considering all the knee ops I've had, but tbh since I started it my knee does seem a lot stronger (well it's probs the surrounding muscle that supporting it better).Happy days:smilewinkgrin:

Doug, I used to live not far from you in Morecambe, we went rockclimbing, absailing, white water canoeing and potholing in the lakes with school and I loved every minute of it I have always been saying I will try and join a similar club near here.
