Just want to say a BIG!! Thanks to Bill from KeraKoll adhesives..

He came up trumps with some Ideal H40 adhesive for me to use in the morning on an Anhydrite screed( GyvlonLL) job i am doing..

He sent me 5 bags to do the first phase( Bathroom floor 27 mtrs) to try out and see what it is like..then i move onto the other 170 mtrs... So again Bill a big thanks..

That is great service..IMO..

5 bags wont do 27m2 if you are solid bedding will it? I would have thought it would be 10 even on a super flat screed

Used their slow set white flexi last month. When I saw it, I thought.....ohhhhhh!!! BUT it was lovely stuff, mixed well and did what it said on the bag. I'll stick with Mapei & Webber though!

But saying that Gary.. the Ideal H40 is 25 kg bags as well.. so remember folks they are bigger bags and go a long way..

it would be a good idea if some can up with a litmuss paper type test for anhydrite screeds to see if they were ready for tiling as I am never sure and always end up leaving them far longer than I guess they need to dry

?? lost me Dave

It is just a test of the screed.. This is a gas-pressure test method in which a small sample of screed is removed and placed in a test vessel where moisture in the screed reacts with calcium carbide crystals to create acetylene gas. The gas pressure produced is measured to provide a moisture content reading of the screed sample, expressed as a percentage of moisture.

Am I correct in assuming that you will use the Gypsum adhesive for the decoupler and then a normal spf for tiling onto the mat, Dave?

Correct..

Well H40 is Cement based but not portland cement and is Friendly to Gypsum... again this adhesive is discussed at the training day.

As previously mentioned, I have a couple of Gyvlon screeds to tile (approx 250sqm in total) so I'm looking closely at all the adhesive options at the moment. It's just a shame that getting to County Durham is too much of a trek for me. :incazzato:.

At least I have a dialogue with Ajax, just need to make friends with Bill now .

good for you dave ,just hope you dont have anything go wrong ,as they dont stands by wot they use

Hi Dave,
Sorry for the delay in replying, ironically I have been in Italy! Hope it all goes well with the H40 Eco Ideal, and no problem with the samples. You are right when you say that H40 Ideal is a special cement which allows fixing directly to the anhydrite and//or plaster if onto walls. Because of this there is no formation of ettrignite which is what occurs with conventional cement based adhesives causing debonding.

Well i used it today...

Very nice and creamy.. mixed very easy and spread just as good... excellent pot life and open time..

The 25kg bags are a bonus i must say..

Good stuff Dave!! Hope it all goes well, keep me posted.

It is nice Bill.. and also very white, compared to some i have used.

Very easy to get full coverage on the Dural ci base..

Slightly off topic as i didnt use the H40. But i did use other types of adhesive from this brand. No problems and I also found it smooth and very white.....and I like that . When I buy white adhesive I want it WHITE, not light grey/beige as some are.
When they sort out retail outlets then I feel they will be more widely used.

I want you guys to HOLD OFF using it with a membrane.. Until i hear any different Ideal H40 is NOT suitable for sticking membranes down...

I will give a full report once i hear something back from Kerakoll tech but for now please do not use with uncoupling membranes like dural etc..

just dont give kerakoll your direct sites, those scumbags will not give you your ORC's , and even 1-2 products are ok rest are junk in kerakoll

Either explain what has allegedly gone on with said manufacturer or we shall not allow your remarks.

You cannot keep posting they are rubbish etc without saying fully why ?
