Maybe years ago i would have dont the same thing but you never know when you couold do with the work. I would have said "Ok" but you can always say you are too busy when they call.
You had him in the palm of your hand...He wanted you !, not you wanting him and thats a good position to be in.

Vengance comes at a price.

In this case the price is that you can't go back to him if you needed the work. This may not be an issue.

I don't go out of my way to find work with contractors. They have come to me in the past. I take each on their own merits. One chap took weeks to pay a £60 invoice. he went beyond the end of the month and I had to remind him. He did pay. I put it down to his lack of organisation, nothing else.

Would I work for him again. Yes, but I would make damn sure I knew when I was getting paid. He's got too much to loose in terms of reputation if he ever thought he could get away without paying me.
