I have lost out on a few quotes recently so thought I would rum this one by you all and see what you think.

Just been to price a kitchen floor 26 m2

The customer has 600 x 600 ceramics

The substrate is floor boards which are solid but I'm looking at using NMP to overboard.

My price is £920 which includes -

All Addy and Grout (Mapei)
NMP boards, Glue and Screws
Labour

Does this sound OK?

If I get this job it will lead on to two bathrooms over the next few months too

Do you know how much they paid for the 600x600mm porcelain?
Where did they get your name from and is there a hint of other competition.
If you can do it in 4 days you should be fine.

Not sure how much the tiles cost but he said he got a good price.

He got my number from yell.com but he also asked 2 other local tilers for quotes, I just called him to give price (he wanted it over the phone) and he didn't want to give me the other tilers prices and just said he was waiting for one more price before making a decision

I know I can manage 4 days no problem

36 boards of NMP : £270 ish
About £40 on glue and screws
About £100 on addy and grout
Say £12 Silicon if coloured

So at £920 you're doing it for less than £20/m2 on large format ceramics and all the prep for free. I would be higher but I would probably go in around the same if it gets me 2 bathrooms.

Hope you get it mate!

That was how I worked it out, I thought I would rather go in a bit lower to get the bathrooms later, I will make my money back on the bathrooms

Don't hold your breath Mark!
Have you seen the job or is it from his quantities.
Do you think they could be BQ porcelain at £11per sq mt because you'll struggle to get £20/m for fixing (which should be the minimum you'll need labour) and he'll want to pay less than the tiles cost for fixing no doubt.

They are Ceramics mate.

I know what your saying mate and I'm just hoping I came across well when I was there and that wins him over

price sounds a little under to my mind (mainly the material outlay) but I hoe you get it along with the follow on work. Just be sure there is follow on work tho'. Some customers do try and suck you in with the promise of more work if you do a good price for the first phase. In reality, the follow on work is imaginary:thumbsup:
