i get the promise of more work to follow on too, i give them a discount on the SECOND job (if it comes off) not the first! The £100 for the estimate for the addy seems a bit high tho, on them new flat boards a 6mm trowel should be ok so would use a lot less adhesiveprice sounds a little under to my mind (mainly the material outlay) but I hoe you get it along with the follow on work. Just be sure there is follow on work tho'. Some customers do try and suck you in with the promise of more work if you do a good price for the first phase. In reality, the follow on work is imaginary

good luck from me too, but where i live competition is high and you cant compete price wise against jobbers/cowboys who will cut corners to save money on the price, i.e not board out the floor!:mad2:
thats the only way for me too. ive been mad busy since jan but things quietened off the last couple of weeks. i think its that most people rather spend time/money in the garden this time of year than indoors renovating! i got quite a few jobs coming up, but at the moment im going week by weekThanks mate, I know what you mean but luckily for me it was the customer who first asked about boarding the floor and he said he was asking for it in each quote.
I have lost out to a fair few cowboys over the last few month but I'm not going down to their level and cutting corners. I either do a good job using the correct materials and methods or no job
Well done Mark, I'm pleased for you.
Just goes to show that the info picked up on here helps us all become even more professional .
