I had a small moment like this, just this Wednesday gone in fact. I'm minding my own business, strolling back to my car after my lecture at uni on Wednesday afternoon (HR qualification) and somebody shouts my name. Now I really wish I could learn to not spin round when somebody shouts my name, because there must be other people in the near vicinity with the same name or similar. Anyways, I look up, and see this bloke a couple of cars away. I immediately recognise him as somebody I know but for a split second can't think of his name. And then another split second later I'm thinking it's somebody else but then the brain kicks in and thinks it can't possibly be the person I'm thinking of due to distance/job/etc. And then it dawns on me just as I'm about 6 feet away from this guy...............
It's only my EX fiance!
Well, it could have been an awkward moment, but I thought seen as he had obviously recognised me and shouted me, then I thought what the hell. Quick hug, the past 9 years in a nutshell, his missus is expecting their first baby in Feb, lives less than THREE miles away from me now, works near to where I used to work in Chester, and his wife's Uncle knows me from when I worked at JCB!!! OMG!
Smile sweetly, all the pleasantries, and said our goodbyes telling him to sign up to facebook, it's a great way of keeping up with everybody.
And before anybody asks, it was me who ended it. I realised I wasn't in love with him.
