hi all

I have a lafarge gyvlon floor screed and i am looking to lay 22mm natural stone floor slabs, can anyone advise me on the adhesives to use??
I have been advised that gipfix is the one to use.. has anyone used it yet??

I have wet underfloor heating on 82mm of celotex over a block and beam floor.

I am also after advise on a 10-15mm wide cement type grout which has the flexility to not pop out with the sight 'bounce' of the block and beam..

can anyone help???

regards

david

Hi, Gyvlon is gypsum based so it would be best to try to get your hands on a gypsum based adhesive, there a few on the market but you will need to do a little bit of looking around. Much more importantly than this, if there is any deflection (or bounce) in the floor, this must be sorted before tiling or the floor will fail. It is not a case of finding a stronger grout, if the grout is coming loose 9 times out of 10 it is because the bond between the adhesive and the tile has been lost.

Here is a post I put up a little while ago on the gypsum based adhesive I used from Weber.

Please read: Weber: Info on Weber.Col anhydrite 2 Gypsum

Gypfix has been used on numerous projects so far. Reports about it are all very encouraging. Certainly no failures so far. It will be appearing in your local n& c store soon. Alternatively you can contact creative impressions who hv been using their GBTA for several years very successfully.

Hi there
thank you for your replies...
My floor doesnt really have 'bounce', but it is a block and beam floor. I have doubled up the beams to reduce this.
It doesnt have any movement when walking on it, if fact i dont think it has anymore than a gyvlon screed layed direct onto celotex and a solid floor...
