Same thing that happened to Fliselege's boss happened to me. The lady I was tiling for insisted I take all the tiles back to the shop. Luckily I had not stuck them to the wall. The shop insisted they were the same tiles as she had chosen. Eventually, she was convinced that the lighting in the shop and that the fact the tiles were grouted within the display caused her eyes to believe they were a different colour.
I tiled and grouted the tiles in her kitchen and she was delighted.

It was the grout that made all the difference. and as Alan says the colour of the paint will also fool the eye.

Loose tiles look the same colour to me.

If you say Specsavers often enough you get a free pair - apparently.

water has got in behind the glaze?

happened to me on some cheapo 6x6 ceramics, all same colour when fitting, but then the odd few soaked the water in like a sponge and went darker than the rest

Seems a classic case of customer deciding once done that she ballsed up and chose wrong tiles for her scheme to me......

As above, can't see a problem had, i delivered tiles to a house 5 days before i was due to do the job, when i arrived at 7-30 in the morning she insisted they were different tiles to what she had picked, made me go to the shop with her at 9 to check, same tiles she picked just different lighting in the shop!

I can't really see a problem either any way I've told her fight it out with her tiler and bct I've got to much to do so I'm out !!
