Hi all,
Got to lay slate tiles in the morning ,only 2m2 on a bathroom floor.I had a look at them on Friday, the state they were in,all dusty, opened one pack and the tile cracked and crumbled in my hand.
From B and Q.
Anyway I know you have to look at all the widths first and arrange them, but is there anything to watch out for or any tips advice you can give me? just fed up keep having nitemare after nitemare, would like something to go straight forward at least.
Cheers for any help.
Vinnie.

Hi vin the best advice i can give is "run away" do you really need to do a 2 m2 bathroom floor? your going to tell me next that the sanitaryware is in (please don't).

B&q strike again ,while not the best material's they are the biggest diy supplier in britain(unfortunately).

I am so glad i don't do domestic work:hurray:

its not the widths i'd be looking at its the thickness we have done some in a kitchen and they range from 3 mm to 15 mm thick and thats on the same tile for what you will be getting paid best thing you can do is call in sick (long tern) or if there is a tiller you don't like give them his number, :mad2::mad2: :scooter:

Cheers guys for your replys,
Hmm! made me think, the thing is we tiled all the walls last week, gonna grout them today, then we have agreed to lay the floor after, which is all in the price. Ive already cut a few to fit, just hope they sit right.Yeah when I said widths ,I meant thickness. They are a 600x300 tile...Nice:mad2:
Cheers.
Vin.

What amazes me is how much money are they saving? I don't know and have no idea what the B & Q ones cost but the very best hand selected calibrated slate is only around £50 a metre!

I realise they wont want to probably pay that! But if they went middle of the road it's only going to cost them £40 more:huh2:
