Laying Welsh Neptune Slate 900mmX600mmX20mm externally onto concrete

I am looking to lay 25 square metres of Neptune Grey slate Slabs 900x600x20 externally onto newly laid concrete.Rather than use a normal cement mix a suggestion has been to use an external tile adhesive instead?
I would welcome some suggestions on the best options to lay these and the recommended adhesive if this is the best option.

After spending a lot of money I want them laid to last

Just seen the 20mm thickness bit

So i assume calibrated to that... there is no reason you cannot use tile adhesive but the new slab will need to be cured / dry beforehand.

They are dry but is there any advantage to me spot laying using adhesive?

So you would stick with sand cement base then?
