Hello, new round here and looking for a bit of advice - we have a job comming up in a bar/pub, they are wanting unregulated natural indian tile/flag stone laying in the bar area, worked with this stuff before it has all sorts of steps/ridges on the tile face. Told em we dont think this is the best stuff to use for a bar as there is a chance some one could trip on the steps/ ridges but they want it regarless - so my question is what is the best way to cover our back against any kind of legal come backs?

thanks.

I would of thought either get a signed statement and make sure they buy it for use or if your anxious about it step away m8.

Personnaly if you are that concerned I would walk away. Dont need the hassle regardless what the amount of profit is. Even if you are not liable you laid the tiles and it could be your reputation on the line.
With that in mind if you wish to go ahead put everything in writing.
ie. On invoice-
' As you requested the tiles to be fixed are ......... etc'
I am sure you get the picture.
Maybe e-mail correspondence ie. invoice. Remember to keep a good record of paperwork with dates times, even dates of your conversations and what was said to whom.

You could also phone a solicitor to find out your legal stance. I have done this on several occassions and never been charged.

Hope this helps.
