Nah mate I had the same problem, I started out as an apprentice with my stepdad and did floor screeding plastering and tiling with him for about 4 years then about 2 years ago went on my own to do just tiling still use the plastering and screeding alot as other peoples prep rarely any good 🙂 what college did you go to mate?

very lucky having step dad give you apprentiship...youre gna love this...i went to otley college,which is near enough ................IPSWICH,the majority were tractorgirls.yep i entered the enemys backyard.it was 2 year course ended last year.it started year we beat em ithink 5-1.i carved it into render ihad done in my bay..you could tell it bugged em,they said we wouldnt get promoted whoops,they said wed get relegated,whoops,good times.ha ha bloody ha. cheers for link

Indeed it was mate I have no qualification as such just the experiance. Haha no way its unfortunate that you had to go to (shudders as I say this) Ipswich but what a time to be there mate I'm glad you ripped em for it 🙂 no problem I use this site for everything lol it's like a bible for me 🙂

yeah,it good source of info. previously watched youtube vids,a lot of wrong info on there. id swap diploma for youre experience anyday. i got taught a bit of plaster/rendering/screeding in year 1.i reckon it'll come in handy.i had to fein a bit of interest in ipswich,its the least i could do.lol.i didnt need to say much.they knew the score.:lol:

My stepdad is hard work though hes set in his ways (not always the right ones lol) have had to teach myself a fair bit from reading on here and just doing it!! It will definately come in handy mate I try my best to do all my own prep if possible 🙂

cheers. im gna do a few jobs for family/friends and get photos of jobs,and then try and get employed,dont really fancy being self employed,although may change mind. although not gna be doin anything with no tools. saving for gear at min.well done for teachn youreself,and taking plunge,sing or swim i guess.better get me a rubber ring sorted.

Cheers mate it's not that easy being self employed at the moment I have had some major luck of just meeting the right people who give me work, im not making mega money or rushed off my feet but im enjoying it on my own 🙂but which ever way you go good luck mate 🙂
