Levelling a sloping wood floor

Hi peeps

Whats the best way to level a sloping wood floor before tiling it?
A customer has a kitchen floor he wants re-tiling that slopes to the right, and this time he'd like it made level.
The area to be tiled is 2.6m2 with kitchen units on two sides, the lowest side sloping to a wall.
The difference could be 20-30mm. I dont know if the existing tiling actually follows the floor as great dolops of ady was used to dot and dab tiles which i could feel on the edges under the units!
The unit kick boards can be removed. Its in a top floormad2 flat in an old victorian house.
Im going to use 18mm ply but do i put thinner strips of ply under it to build up the difference (if the difference isnt too much)?

strapping the ply out may not be a good idea as it may cause deflection issues, can you lay 22mm from the low side and make up the difference with varying sizes of ply? It sounds like a jigsaw to me.
start with 22m ply strips and reduce it accordingly every 100mm or so till flat, use lots of screws.

Why not just rip the old tiling out then level with spf / boards and screws, then you will keep the height down.

i would look for 6 and 9mm ply to put under the deeper sides so you can level the 18mm ply across the floor before starting

I have used this a few times now.. good leveller and perfect for that little floor.. does 3 to 60mm in one bite..

Thats what I was thinking of doing, and probably will.
I was ripping everything out anyway Alan.
Not used slc on wood before, but the info will be handy for future reference.

Same as, I usually put temporary battens down between unit legs to stop slc flowing under units
