Limestone floor - colour issues around edges after grouting

Hey guys, spoken to Harry about this and as usual is a great help wondered if anyone has any input on this? Artisans limestone floor , very porous, wanted to go with rapid all in one but they sent hydro seal instead, water based, so went with it, floor was cleaned and left for 24 hours, then sealed , left for 48 hours, I did a water test and it beaded up nicely, started grouting , did a 15m section and felt the grout was grabbing so washed off and stopped , now left with slightly darker stone around the outside , any advice to get this off ??

Water ingress into the unsealed sides of the stone and trapped under the sealed surface. Doesn't look like a dark grout so should stain and should dry out slowly over time.

Dont go down the what if route.... it looks like moisture to me.

Could just be moisture . How long has it been left after grouting .

Only yesterday ..... it does seem to follow where the grout float was

It would be interesting to no what the moisture levels are at the edge of the stone compared to middle .
What is the name of the stone .

Hopefully its watermarking. Give it a few days to see if it starts to dry out. If it remains and appears unchanged, the grout has either penetrated the tiles or just ingrained in the micro-texture of the surface of the stone. Don't be tempted to try a regular grout stain remover. It will knacker it. LTP have one that is suitable for unpolished marble and limestone that you could give a go:

Artisans belvoir, the most porous things I have ever had the displeasure of even looking at!!!

Right I spoke to tim at artisans and he said he doesnt know of this happening but they did a lighter stone of similar texture in the showroom which picture framed. Now the bad news they tried everything and in the end just left it and eventually it dried out , but he did say a couple of months .

So good if them to tell customers who bought this type of stone of them that this could happen

Do you have an off cut that you can grout the face of then let that dry and see if it stains also get another off cut and just get it wet with clean water and see how that looks .
