Limestone for kitchen?

Hi all

We are about to re tile our kitchen and really like the look of Seashell limestone tiles.



my question is, is limestone good for kitchens? I've had a good old google today and really like this style of tile.

obv it will require sealing etc. Any horror stories?

should I be looking at another material?

FINALLY (sorry!) is £39 per m2 a good average price?

This would be fine for your kitchen. I would try a buy this from a local supplier rather than from the web. And get a proffesional tiler to fix them. Ask to see some of his work. Or you could get a tiler from the forum to quote the job for you. Just make sure tiles are clean from grout residue before sealer is applied. Anymore questions ask away. Oh another quick one what is the substrate the tiles are going onto? Is there underfloor heating?

Actually Dave that supplier for the seashell limestone are good, Ive used them a couple of times for smaller contracts and I never had a problem with them.

Yes went down to see them. Was served by a very eccentric older gentleman!

Looks like we will be going with them.

Fairly pricey, not sure if its the norm to ask for a good deal? or are their prices set in stone (pun intended )
